Artists Comment: The Himalaya are renowned for their stupendous scale and drama. What is less appreciated is the extraordinary diversity and beauty of the regions fast-disappearing natural pine and deciduous forests. This picture of Rhododendron woods was taken late in late afternoon light in at about 3000 metres altitude from a trekking trail that eventually leads to the glaciers of 7245 metre Mount Langtang.
